Hussaini Association of Calgary(Imambargah) was conceived, planned and built in early 1980s with help from the Shia Muslims of Calgary and other Shia communities including Khojaa Ithna Ashri Shia Communities of Toronto and Vancouver. It was registered as Charitable Organization with CRA on May 10th, 1982. The opening Ceremony of the current building at 3467 46 Avenue SE, Calgary (Alt. Address: 4755 34 St SE, Calgary T2B 3B3, Alberta) was performed on April 26th, 1986 Saturday, Islamic date 16 Shaban 1406 at 1:00 PM by Maulana Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi. See the Invitation Card below.
This historical memory is very important in the sense that after Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver, this was the fourth Imambargah built in Canada. The first three were funded and built by the Khojaa Ithna Ashari Shia Muslims jamaat.
